Endermologie

Endermologie By LPG

Background and History

Endermologie® is a noninvasive procedure that is approved by the FDA for the treatment of cellulite and feels like a massage. The process results in smoothing, toning and firming skin, while flushing out toxins and excess fluid in the lymphatic system and connective tissues. It has been used successfully for years in Europe and in the U.S. to help reduce the appearance of cellulite.

Endermologie® was originally developed in France in the 1980s as a treatment for scarring for severe burn victims. Endermologie® was developed as an alternative method to surgery for freeing the scar.

In the process of freeing the scar tissue, many patients observed reduction of body dimensions and improvement in skin texture. Since then, Endermologie® has been used as a treatment to achieve cellulite reduction, skin toning and all around connective tissue repair.

Most Frequently Asked Questions:

How can Endermologie help me?
  • Help you to bring back the smooth skin you once had, to increase your attractiveness, physical appeal, and to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
  • Help you to maximize your potential to reach the ideal shape for your size, age and body type, so that you look better in and out of your clothes.
  • Improve your circulation, which is beneficial to every part of your body.
  • Reduce the size of areas of your body where often diet or exercise has not been able to do so.
  • Reshape your body after pregnancy.
  • Post-surgery after liposuction to stimulate the healing process
Does Endermologie hurt?

This procedure does not typically cause pain and most clients find it extremely relaxing. Most clients that come after liposuction are tender and sore therefore similar discomfort may be present during the first few treatments. Some tenderness could also be present during treatment if the tissue is slightly constricted, but this is uncommon.

Are results permanent?

Results will vary depending on the individual, but typically the results are not permanent. The effects of Endermologie will slowly diminish unless some maintenance is performed.

Can I do Endermologie every day?

We recommend allowing your tissue to rest in between treatment, general recommendations include no more than 1-2 treatments per week.

How does Endermologie work?

A technician uses a machine to apply gentle pressure and suction to your skin. Sessions last 35 minutes and are conducted one to two times per week until a point of diminishing improvement is reached (about 15-20 sessions). Thereafter, monthly sessions are required to maintain the result. There is no pain and no recovery time.

What is Cellulite?

Cellulite is a condition in which the skin appears to have areas with underlying fat deposits, giving it a dimpled, lumpy appearance. It is most noticeable on the buttocks and thighs, and usually occurs after puberty. This appearance can be diminished with FDA-approval Endermologie treatments.

What causes cellulite?

The causes of cellulite are not well understood, but there are several theories that have been put forth as explanations. Among these are:

Hormone factors – hormones likely play an important role in cellulite development. Many believe estrogen, insulin, noradrenaline, thyroid hormones, and prolactin are part of the cellulite production process.

Genetics – certain genes are required for cellulite development. Genes may predispose an individual to particular characteristics associated with cellulite, such as gender, race, slow metabolism, distribution of fat just underneath the skin, and circulatory insufficiency.

Diet – people who eat to much fat, carbohydrates, or salt and too little fiber are likely to have greater amounts of cellulite.

Lifestyle Factors – cellulite may be more prevalent in smokers, those who do not exercise, and those who sit or stand in one position for long periods of time. Clothing – underwear with tight elastic across the buttocks (limiting blood flow) may contribute to the formation of cellulite.
